Our
History - OptiCon Systems, Inc.
The OptiCon business was
originally formed in 1994 by Corning Cable Systems to meet
growing customer demand for improved management of densely
packed distribution frames. As a leading global supplier of
network connectivity products, Corning Cable Systems brought
extensive experience in network design, cabling, hardware and
testing to the development of the OptiCon Network Manager
solution. Corning Cable Systems delivered the first software
product under the OptiCon brand name to customers in
1996.
Through continuous innovation and new product
releases, the OptiCon application expanded in scope to include
management of all inside and outside plant network assets,
connections and circuits. By 2003, OptiCon held an industry
leading position with over 140 installation sites at 62
different companies.
In August 2005, OptiCon Systems
Incorporated was formed when a group of investors, led by key
OptiCon business managers, acquired all OptiCon assets and
intellectual property from Corning Cable Systems. Our
Management Team OptiCon Systems is managed by a senior
executive team that has extensive telecommunications, software
development and business management experience. Founders of
OptiCon Systems have in-depth knowledge of the network
management market from their experience building the original
OptiCon business within Corning Cable Systems.
