SECFONE - The Art of Shielding Mobile Communications

SECFONE PROVIDES SECURE VOIP BASED MOBILE COMMUNICATION SO YOU CAN HANDLE CONFIDENTIAL CALLS SECURELY ON YOUR ANDROID™ PHONE.

Secure
• Highly secure mobile communication enabled by the implementation of patented proprietary
MVCN™ technology and hardware based encryption key protection.
• End-to-end communication between devices leaves no single point of attack on the network
• Option to establish a fully secure closed communication network on-demand.

Cost effective
• All calls are voice over IP based and therefore are invoiced as data traffic by your carrier,
enabling your company to save on calls

User friendly
• Secfone provides the best voice quality compared to the solutions available on the market we have tested so far
• Any VoIP network can be securely reached via Secfone provided that the network is connected through our network encryption technology (Secbox) to the Internet
• Sensitive corporate information may be reached remotely through a highly secure channel using Secfone

The main features of Secfone include:
• Encrypted VoIP voicecalls and data traffic using 2048-bit RSA for server authentication
2048-bit RSA for peer authentication 448-bit Blowfish CBC for voice and data stream encoding
• Hardware based protection – encryption keys are stored on a smartcard
• Secure authentication enabled by the MVCN™ network protocol
• VoIP networks can be securely reached via Secfone when connected the Internet with
our network encryption technology (Secbox)
• Peer-to-peer communication between corresponding parties
• Cost efficient calls – all calls handled through Secfone are invoiced as data traffic by the carrier
• Better than GSM voice quality
• Networks: Wi-Fi, HSDPA (3.5G), UMTS (3G), EDGE (2.5G)
Secfone calls are handled via the Internet using Wi-Fi, HSDPA (3.5G), UMTS (3G) or EDGE (2.5G) networks. The advantages of VoIP communication over GSM is the superior voice quality and cost efficient calls due to the carrier billing data traffic instead of voice traffic.

Secfone uses a peer-to-peer connection for communicating between the devices, there is no
central network hub allowing potential eavesdroppers to aim a single point of attack. Secfone
provides secure VoIP mobile communication if both corresponding parties use Secfone enabled devices. In case of a VoIP telephone network Secphone calls may be connected through Secbox connection.

SOFTWARE

OptiCon Network Manager
The OptiCon Network Manager is a powerful software and services solution that allows users to easily document and manage the physical and logical layers of a communications network. By allowing users to easily maintain and quickly access critical information, the OptiCon software dramatically improves response times for key operational and planning functions. Simply stated, the OptiCon system dramatically improves response times and efficiency by automating critical network operations.

Key features include
Provides a single repository for documenting the network
Automates network route and site planning
Automates connection assignment and service provisioning
Automates fault location, resolution and management
Automates network asset reporting
Complements existing customer systems

These primary features allow OptiCon Network Manager customers to reduce overall operating costs, reduce capital expenditures on network assets, improve network reliability, improve network customer satisfaction and even increase revenues in competitive environments. To learn how the OptiCon Network Manager can specifically benefit your organization, please contact us today or click on the individual feature links for more details.

The OptiCon Network Manager allows users to perform these functions in less time and more accurately than with traditional methods.  Through improved network modeling, accurate data management and automated functions, OptiCon can provide customer value in several areas.  Primary customer benefits include:

Reduced operating costs,
Increased network asset utilization,
Improved network reliability and
Increased revenue from improved customer service.

OptiCon Integrated Applications
The OptiCon Network Manager utilizes a Microsoft Windows Operating System with simple, icon-driven toolbars.  MapInfo Professional GIS software is the primary graphical user interface while an Oracle relational database stores and manages all the network data.  This open architecture allows OptiCon to be easily integrated with existing business critical systems and databases.

OptiCon’s flexible design can be used be used in a stand-alone, client/server, web-based or combination application and is vendor-neutral so equipment and cabling from any vendor can be defined within the software.  This allows the proper personnel to quickly and easily access OptiCon data when needed.

What Data Is Tracked?
A tremendous amount of data attributes and relational linkages are managed within the OptiCon Network Manager application. Click here to see a detailed listing of all the equipment and data elements tracked.

Market Applications
Whether you are managing a long-haul fiber backbone, a dense metropolitan ring topology, a campus LAN or other type of network architecture, the robust design of the OptiCon Network Manager allows it effectively manage your communications network. The system is also vendor-neutral so equipment and cabling from any vendor can be defined within the software.

Power Usage Module (PUP)
It is a well documented fact that if the electric utilities maintain status quo on the existing grid, a substantial amount of time and money will need to be spent to upgrade and build new infrastructures to meet the energy demands of the future. This will have an adverse impact on the energy prices in the coming years. However most utilities are working towards building a smarter grid in an effort to meet the demands, conserve energy and provide the customers some pricing options.

PUP allows consumers to have total control of their energy usage. It provides the ability of tracking the usage of energy and allows purchase at low price time frames. With two-way communications to the homes along with Cyber Security, consumers will be motivated to use the time of use (TOU) pricing information, reducing the peak demands placed on the utilities.

GRIM
The energy industry’s assets and systems are not designed to handle well designed acts of terrorism, aimed at strategic elements. With the threat of attacks over the internet growing, it is critical to ensure that the robust security aspects are introduced for all the elements of the grid.

Our Grid intrusion Management system is an enhanced Cyber Security feature that prevents unwarranted intrusion into any part of the electrical grid protected by GRIM. Using advanced encryption algorithms, an extremely robust secure virtual network can be built over a private or public network. The embedded secure communications can also be integrated within the customer’s equipment environment.

HARDWARE

Enforcer
One of the challenges of the current day energy company meters, is that there is no ability to connect or disconnect power without a truck roll. Although some energy companies have deployed Smart Meters, the remote connect/disconnect feature is a rarity.

Our Enforcer works with legacy as well as Smart Meters to provide the ability to connect or disconnect power to the customer remotely. The system is WAN agnostic and works with a variety of WAN technologies and protocols.

Sentinel
Sentinel is our security box targeted for Distributed Automation applications, primarily in substations. Sentinel powered by GRIM provides a secure two-way communications path for the SCADA devices at the substations.

Sentinel Lite is our security platform mounted inside the existing meter or embedded as a chipset within the meter developed by our partner. Sentinel Lite provides the same capabilities as the Sentinel from a security standpoint. This unique offering extends the Cyber Security reach all the way to the customer premises enabling Smart Homes to become a reality faster, fully leveraging AMI investment.

Substation Hardened Integration Platform
SHIP is our industrial hardened rugged communication platform that provides Ethernet to the substations. The platform is suitable for harsh environments to provide real time communications to substations and industrial environments with or without the ability to get external power. The equipment meets current standards for substation hardened Ethernet devices and IEC 61850 for interoperability with intelligent electronic devices at the substations.
